Save the date for last bike donation drive of our 2023 bike giveaway season! We’ll have numerous stations setup around the city for you to drop off your donated bicycles. On Saturday, November 19th, the donation stations will be setup from 10-2pm, locations are listed below. Please note, this will be our first bike collection in Milwaukee as we start to serve Milwaukee nonprofits.
Waunakee Neighborhood Connection – 208 S. Century Avenue, Waunakee
Delta Beer Lab – 167 E. Badger Road, Madison
Monona Fire Department – 1101 Nichols Road, Monona
Salem United Church of Christ – 502 Mark Drive, Verona
Lexus of Madison – 8000 Airport Road, Middleton
Starion Bank – 350 S. Grand Avenue, Sun Prairie (Prairie Lakes)
MILWAUKEE AREA – Two Men and a Truck – 11800 W Burleigh St #240, Wauwatosa
We ask that bikes be gently used or in repairable condition. With the help of our paid mechanics and volunteers, we will spend the winter refurbishing the bikes so they’re as good as new to giveaway in May 2023. If you are unable to make it to the donation drive, you can drop your bikes off at Lexus of Madison or bring them to East Towne Mall to the Free Bikes 4 Kidz workshop.

If you’d like to join us in the refurb-cycle, please sign up for our monthly e-news to stay up-to-date with our volunteer signup needs. You can sign up by scrolling to the bottom of this page and entering your email in the ‘subscribe’ field. We would love to have your help!
BIKES THAT AREN’T GENTLY USED
If your bike is not in repairable condition and you want to drop it off, we can accept it with a $25 donation. Bikes that cannot be repaired have to be trucked to a metal recycling yard which requires us to rent a UHaul truck. The $25 fee will help us cover our staff time to take all the parts off your bike, the cost of the truck, and the effort required to haul them across the city. Bikes are no longer accepted at the Dane County Landfill so we will ensure that it gets properly recycled.
MORE ABOUT FB4K MADISON
Each year, Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison gives away over 2,000 bikes to people who’ve been historically excluded from the cycling industry (primarily People of Color) and to low income families who cannot afford to buy bikes. We are working to diversify the cycling scene and ensure that all people who want bikes have the opportunity to enjoy one. Plus, we give more than just bikes! We give away helmets, locks, headlights, taillights, and bike pumps too for a total bike package value of $150.
If you don’t have a bike to donate but want to contribute to our program and help people get bikes, we’d love to have your financial support! Click here to make a donation. We are a small organization with two year-round employees and an annual budget of $100,000. So your donation goes a long way to help our bike recipients!
