Happy Summer! We’ve seen a lot of people enjoying their new FB4K bikes this summer—it’s a great sight to see! We hope you’re getting lots of time in the saddle too.
One of the hardest things to communicate about our program is our programming calendar. We receive numerous emails and texts from people asking for bikes during the summer. We gave away over 2,000 bikes in April/May. Our workshop is now closed and our tools are tucked away in a storage locker until December. So we don’t have bikes on hand to giveaway. We also cannot accept bike donations at this time because we have no where to store them. We refer a lot of people to Wheels for Winners in the summer who has always been a great partner to FB4K. At the bottom of this post, you can learn more about the timing of our program.
But don’t worry! Donation day is just around the corner!
Madison Bike Week – 9/18 is Bike Donation Day!

On Saturday, September 18, Free Bikes 4 Kidz Madison will begin collecting donated bikes for the 2022 season! We’ll have about 6-7 bike donation stations setup around the city. Some sure bets are Delta Beer Lab, Breese Stevens Field, and Lexus of Madison.
Please mark the date on your calendars if you have a bike to donate! Our donation stations will be open from 10am-2pm on Saturday, September 18 during Madison Bike Week. We will be in need of numerous volunteers to help us man the stations and to help us load and unload bikes. We’ll have a signup setup soon! We will need around 22-25 volunteers that day. We’d love to have your help!
Until then, enjoy the summer and we’ll be watching for you on your bike!
